The main objective of the MADE project is the development of a cross-border system involving the alpine pastures of FVG and Carinthia and hiking-cycling routes in nature, with a view to preserving cultural and natural heritage, strengthening common identity, expanding and increasing the seasonality of tourism offerings, involving and supporting local production and increasing employment, as well as enhancing sustainable mobility between neighboring regions.

The focus will be on the protection of the natural environment and biodiversity through the enhancement of cultural heritage and knowledge of traditional agriculture in the Alpine area. The project aims to stimulate the development of tourism, whose potential is not yet fully exploited, by involving alpine pastures and linking it to the supply of high-quality local products. Alpine agricultural activities, connected to the natural wealth of the area, will promote the improvement of the tourist offer of gastronomic, sports, wellness, and cultural character. The project idea will be realized through the enhancement of alpine pastures and grazing lands, accommodation facilities, typical gastronomic offerings, sustainable cross-border mobility and joint promotion, as well as through the enhancement of the natural environment through communication e.g. with the creation of interactive installations and info-points.
